Safe and
On Time

Transportation

Your child's bus driver often offers them their very first good morning and very last goodbye of the school day. We take our commitment to serve the community seriously and strive to offer a safe, convenient and comfortable ride for our Knights!

As part of the passing of our 2016 bond, we have received 14 new buses. These 77 passenger buses come equipped with four interior cameras and high band frequency radios (which were added to our existing buses as well). Once they arrive to us, we make them road-worthy by adding a radio, exterior cameras, and Zonar tracking systems.

Transportation for 2022-2023
Bussing will be available again this year for students. We will no longer be posting bus routes online going forward due to student safety. Please watch your email for communication about routes and stops prior to the start of school.

Alternate Location Option

To make things convenient for families, we offer the option to have students dropped off or picked up from an alternate location other than their home address (such as a daycare, relative, alternate parent, etc.). If you are in need of this great option, please complete and submit a new Alternate Transportation Form prior to the start of each school year. Alternate drop-offs and pick-ups will be limited to one additional location per student and must be scheduled on a consistent regular basis. Please submit completed forms ASAP either via email to transportation@khps.org or fax them to 616-453-4828 and allow a week turn-around time for processing.

Need Help or Have Questions, Please Contact Us!

Should you need any assistance with transportation questions, please feel free to contact our Transportation office at 616-453-4757.

School of Choice

School of Choice students are eligible for transportation under the following conditions: they must ride to and from the nearest established in-district bus stop and the bus must have room for additional student(s). Should the bus become overcrowded, school of choice students will be asked to change to another bus and bus stop location.

Together, Let's Keep Students Safe: Our Bus Rules

  • Each student will be permitted ONE alternate pick-up and ONE alternate drop-off location other than home. This alternate location must be scheduled on a consistent basis. This will not apply to parents making permanent bussing changes during the year. A signed Alternate Transportation Form with alternate pick-up and/or drop-off locations must be on file in the Transportation office prior to any bussing changes made.
  • Students will not be allowed to ride a different bus to or from school with friends or make any temporary transportation changes. Our routes are designed to take advantage of each bus seat, provide daily consistency and eliminate confusion. Exceptions to this procedure may be requested in writing to the Transportation Supervisor; however, only those requests involving emergency circumstances will be considered.
  • Students must get on and off at their assigned bus stops.
  • For the safety of the students, a visible parent, guardian, or daycare provider is requested to meet young students at their bus stop after school.
  • Students should be at their bus stop 5 minutes prior to the bus's scheduled arrival time.

LEARNING

Our Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without an understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
