Mental Health
As part of the Paint Kenowa Green effort to talk about mental health, KHMS Social Studies classes will be hosting the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Ending the Silence program March 29 and 30. NAMI Ending the Silence for Students: 50-minute presentation designed for middle and high school students that includes warning signs, facts and statistics and how to get help for themselves or a friend. Research has shown that NAMI Ending the Silence for Students is effective in changing middle and high school students’ knowledge and attitudes toward mental health conditions and toward seeking help. District Mental Health professionals will be present in each classroom in order to facilitate conversation and answer any questions.
A follow-up parent/caregiver presentation will be offered in April. If you DO NOT want your child to participate in the NAMI presentation, please fill out the OPT OUT form at this link before March 29: NAMI FORM
Student Engagement Survey
This spring, KHPS has the opportunity to pilot a student engagement survey for the Kent Intermediate

TRANSPORTATION BEFORE AND AFTER SCHOOL CAREOur Personal Mastery educational experience has redefined education and has gained attention around the state and nation. Personal Mastery provides your child with personalized attention from teachers. Instead of teaching to a broad group of students without understanding of their individual strengths and weaknesses, Personal Mastery allows teachers to interact with students individually or in small groups to help them better address their weaknesses. In this way, we strive to help your child reach their full potential.
